Have Fun with Print

Collagraph and Dry point - these are two very successful methods of printmaking. During the week you will learn how to assemble and make plates in cardboard and perspex from which to print and produce colourful examples of these techniques. Whether you are an accomplished artist or just a beginner in the world of art creativity, this course offers you a chance to enjoy yourself while producing work that is satisfying and worthwhile.

Thank you for your application to join a printmaking course at this year's Marlborough College Summer School.

All materials and tools will be provided but I know some students like to prepare for the course during the coming months and so I have listed below some suggestions:

About the tutor:

Liz has been running courses in Printmaking over the past years at her own Studio in Inkpen, near Hungerford, in local schools as well as at Marlborough College Summer School.

She exhibits her work regularly, and with the Test Valley Group of Artists and with the West Berkshire Open Studios Scheme, also in Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. Her interest in Printmaking began originally as a result of attending a Marlborough Summer School Course while teaching Art and Ceramics at a large secondary School in Newbury. When she retired she set up her own print making studio. Since then she has developed new and original techniques often inspired by the area of natural beauty in which she lives.

Her classes at Marlborough are always well received by beginners and more experienced artists who are seeking to explore new media and techniques. Liz's courses are always structured in such a way that by the end of the week students have completed a number of pieces of art using different techniques.

They will leave with typescript notes and information on all the methods they have experienced together with a list of suppliers of the necessary materials used in order that they may continue their newly acquired interests at home.

Come and enjoy and have fun !

Liz has a beautiful gallery in the grounds of her house at Inkpen where her work and that of others is on show. See The Beacon Gallery website: - http://www.thebeacongallery.net/
