Young Peoples Courses

Marlborough College Summer School continues to welcome young people to our action-packed week of activities and entertainment either as residents with their families, as day students on their own, or in a group. The sheer pace of the week and the dedication of the pastoral tutors ensure that everyone settles in with ease, and friendships are quickly made.

Catering for both day and accompanied residential young people, the programme will focus on flexibility and choice. Junior Troopers (3-6 years) and Children's Activities (6-9 years) will continue with the multi-activity programme that has proved such a winning formula for so long; Young Adventurers (9-12 years) will be particularly attractive to children who have attended Children's Activities in previous years. Teenagers (13-16 years) are split up for many of the activity courses, giving everyone the best chance to find their level. Those courses marked C indicate combined courses for both Teenagers and Young Adventurers.

Young Adventurer and Teenager courses cover a wide age band and they are merged together for the purpose of organising and booking the courses; but the physical activity courses will still be subdivided broadly according to levels of age, experience and ability. For the older and more advanced, the pace will be more testing and ideal for those who really want to give it a go. As always, great care is taken to match activities to attainable standards; but activities which are not constrained by a physical dimension, such as Young Clayshot, Fly-Fishing and Horse Riding, will run together for both Teenage and Young Adventurer age groups.

The extensive range of courses on offer makes full use of the magnificent campus, boasting excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. In addition, selected courses are organised off campus in the surrounding area. (Teenagers and Young Adventurers only)

Lunch is included free of charge for all children attending a full day of courses.

Through the week our young people (9-16 years) can also enjoy supervised evening entertainment between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. During this time we will be offering a wide choice of activities which may include: outdoor adventures, treasure hunt, swimming inflatables, waterslide, Capture the Flag, Jailbreak, Gold Rush, arts & crafts and more. The week will culminate in a BBQ supper, farewell show and disco on the Friday evening, finishing at 9.00pm. Residential children can enjoy all entertainments free of charge. There will be a daily charge for non-residents of £5.00 (Monday-Thursday) and £10 (Friday), payable daily or in advance for the week. All residential children will stay with their families in one of our boarding houses. For accommodation prices click here.

At the Summer School we strive hard to provide an adventurous, healthy and very special programme to suit all the interests of young people, and to make their holiday here an unforgettable experience.
