Discover History Beneath Your Feet - Get Going with Metal Detecting

Metal detecting is a fascinating and enjoyable hobby for young and old alike. It enables participants to exercise and enjoy fresh air whilst finding lost items using technology. It involves research and developing skills gained through practical participation. You may not find a hoard of treasure, but you never know!

Sing Haydn's Creation

Come and sing one of Haydn's best-loved oratorios (and other works) in a relaxed, supportive and enjoyable environment. We welcome singers of all ages and abilities. We will perform the work at the end of the week in the glorious College Chapel, with professional soloists and organ accompaniment. Led by Alex Hodgkinson, the Choirmaster at Marlborough College, with a visiting consultant vocal coach. Be inspired, learn, and have fun!

Wildlife Photography

Modern Digital cameras are very sophisticated, with the ability to capture high resolution images using either pre-set camera modes (such as macro) or settings chosen by the photographer.

Understanding how to get the best from your camera is only part of the story. To photograph nature subjects you will need to understand how to prepare for capturing those images. Whether you are interested in flora, insects, birds, pets or polar bears, this course will give an introduction on how to get started.

As well as teaching you how to get the most from your own camera the course will give you the opportunity to try out equipment used by professional photographers.

Circus Skills for 9-12 years old

This course is an introduction to ground-based circus skills.

Do you want to dive through hoops, make human pyramids and throw things? You’ll be taught how to balance on people and perform feats of dexterity that will amaze your friends and family. There will be workshops in tumbling, acrobalance, clowning and juggling. Each day will end with a chance to learn diablo, poi, staff and bottle flairing. There will also be opportunities to try unicycling and stilt walking. This will be quite an energetic course so people that enjoy being active will benefit the most. It will be suitable for all abilities, but a willingness to try and a good sense of play are essential.
